Miley Cyrus sports short white shorts as she leaves her NYC hotel on Tuesday afternoon (August 31). The 17-year-old actress, who is currently filming L.O.L., arrived in New York last night with her mom Tish and a few friends. L.O.L. summary: In a world connected by YouTube, iTunes, and Facebook, Lola and her friends navigate the peer pressures of high school romance and friendship while dodging their sometimes overbearing and confused parents.

Toronto Son: At the listening party, Perry joked that the video — which also showed a Gummy Bear flipping Perry off — was “as innocent as Miley Cyrus.”
Speaking of whom, Perry said she approves of Cyrus’ controversial move this year to go from teen-pop queen to a sexier, more grown-up artist.
“She knows exactly what she’s doing. I think a lot of pop girls who come from a bit of a controlled (thing) — Nickelodeon or whatever it is — they always feel the need that they’ve got to shed their skin, and bloom again, and butterfly, or peacock, or whatever. I love her. And I think she’s hot. I like what she’s doing. She’s a smart little cookie.”

Miley Cyrus isn’t sad about her recent breakup from Liam Hemsworth. Quite the opposite: she’s laughing it off – really.
Cyrus, 17, is busy at work on a new movie, LOL: Laughing out Loud, filming in Detroit. The comedy, about a teenage girl, her friends and dating in the age of Facebook, also stars Demi Moore, who plays Cyrus’s mother.
Cyrus and Hemsworth, who costarred in The Last Song, dated for over a year, but they were plagued by occasional breakup rumors as recently as June. Still, Cyrus denied that there was trouble at the time, telling fans they were “so happy.”

Seems like Liam Hemsworth may not have been the only one having a hard time staying well-behaved during his medium-distance relationship with ex-GF Miley Cyrus.
Sources tell E! News that perhaps a picture of Miley straddling a mystery man on the set of her new movie LOL in Detroit could have been one of the reasons the Disney star split with Hemsworth:
Two weeks ago, pics of Cyrus perching on the steps of a trailer on the set of LOL and standing between a man’s legs, which looks to be those of costar Adam Sevani, were posted on Flickr—then quickly taken down.
“It looked like she was looking at something that he was holding,” the amateur photographer told E! “I was at the set of the movie. I was out in my car and I could see in between the trailers and I saw them. I think it’s Adam Sevani but it was hard to tell.”
Sevani, 18, is a former boy-bander and creator of the ACDC dance crew, which featured Cyrus in their 2008 YouTube dance battle video.
So what does that all even mean? While everyone picks this apart, let’s remember, Miley hasn’t exactly been shy in her affections for men she’s not interested in. Remember that whole Adam Shankman bump ‘n’ grind video? And the babe certainly isn’t discriminatory on who is worthy of her sexy moves, just ask that poor ice cream truck at last year’s Teen Choice Awards!
Miley’s rep has yet to comment on the breakup situation, but remember, a source close to Cyrus claims she isn’t seeing anyone else.
As for Liam, expect more details in Star soon about his hookup with a girl he met at the U.S. Open Surf Competition back in early August.
But hey, when it comes down to it, can you blame a 17-year-old and 20-year-old for being off and on? We’ve always said these two should never get too serious, so we can’t give ‘em a hard time for acting there age now. Right, everybody?

Teen queen Miley Cyrus, who has made a fortune with her Disney show Hannah Montana and countless tie-ins, including a 3D movie of a Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus concert tour, is going to show us she’s not just another pop star from the Mouse House. After her turn in the soggy Nicholas Sparks movie The Last Song, she’s since gone on to release a “racy” music video for her single “Can’t Be Tamed,” which features a woman with a bird cage on her head as a hat and Cyrus as a winged sexpot being held in a cage who breaks out and wreaks havoc in a museum.
Her next stop on the “Screw You, I’m a Grown-Up!” tour is the movie LOL (Laughing Out Loud), which is based on a French movie of the same name. Both movies were directed by Lisa Azuelos, who wrote the screenplay for the French version and co-wrote the screenplay for this adaptation. I haven’t seen the original, so I don’t know if it’s any good. Have you?
HollywoodLife.com has apparently seen a copy of the script (and PopEater has a snap from the movie), and it reads a bit like Thirteen mixed with Showgirls. In the film, Cyrus “loses her virginity, talks about sex incessantly, smokes marijuana, kisses one of her two best female friends on the lips, gets wasted and accidentally shows her mom, Ann, (Demi Moore) her Brazilian wax.”
Meanwhile, Moore is saddled with lines like, “You’re my daughter… And I won’t let you turn into a porn star!”
Some are comparing this stab at a bad girl makeover to Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, and other Disney gals who went to their dark sides, but none of those gals had daddies like Billy Ray to make sure their achy-breaky hearts didn’t stray too far from the fold. Is this all a family-approved move at making sure Cyrus stays relevant as she ages out of the Disney market? Is Cyrus talented enough to escape the long shadow of Hannah Montana?
Let’s not forget that despite the unending legal and personal troubles, Lohan is actually a pretty good actress, and instead of reveling in the tabloid frenzy, some are actually hoping she’ll eventually make a Robert Downey Jr.-like comeback. Does Cyrus have the chops to begin with — or material that will give her the opportunity to show ‘em off?
